On the outer edges of Mussoorie there are places that have, as of yet, remained safe from the aggressive commercialisation that threatens to devour the peace of the hills. Away from the ever growing crowd of tourists rushing and pushing to find the perfect spot, these places have kept their ancient peaceful silence intact. The Benog Tibba Trek is one of such places, it is a quiet, offbeat and beginner friendly trek that takes you deep into the Himalayan wilderness. From here, on a clear day, on one side you see the shops and homes standing on the Mussoorie hills, while on the other side you see the vast expanse of peaks and valleys that stretches on until it reaches the tall snow capped mountains. 


The Benog Tibba Trek is a trek of easy to moderate difficulty perfect for beginners, in total it is a 7 to 8 kilometers round trip. A part of the Benog Wildlife Sanctuary, Benog Tibba is also home to unique Himalayan flora and fauna, while walking on the trail that goes through pine and deodar trees you will find colorful birds swiftly making their way between the trees and on the ground below you will find unique wildflowers glittering and making the trail vibrant with their striking colors. Best Time To Trek To Benog Tibba


The Trek to Benog Tibba is open to the public throughout the year. Each season brings out the unique color of these mountains. In the winters you may find the trail covered in snow under the blue sky, while in the spring season the wildflowers come out to play.     Begin your journey early in the morning with a scenic drive from Dehradun to Cloud End Forest Resort, located on the outskirts of Mussoorie. The road goes through pine-covered hills and charming hillside villages.

    From Cloud’s End, start your trek into the Mussoorie Wildlife Sanctuary. The trail is peaceful, forested, and moderately steep in sections. Hike through dense foliage, enjoying birdsong and valley views. After 2–3 hours, you’ll reach the summit of Benog Tibba, where the Jwala Devi Temple sits quietly among the ridges.

    Spend time exploring the summit and soaking in views of the Yamuna Valley, Doon Valley, and Himalayan peaks on the horizon. By late afternoon, descend to the basecamp near Cloud End, or choose a nearby clearing for forest camping (with permits). Enjoy dinner around a campfire and rest under a starlit sky.

Reaching Dehradun:

By Train:

From Delhi:
Board the Nanda Devi Express (12205) or Dehradun Shatabdi (12017) from New Delhi Railway Station to Dehradun Railway Station. Journey time is approximately 5.5 to 6.5 hours. Trains run daily and are reliable options.

From Chandigarh:
There are direct trains to Dehradun from Chandigarh, such as the Dehradun Express (12687). Alternatively, you can take a train to Haridwar and continue to Dehradun by bus or taxi (approx. 1 hour drive).

By Air:

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun.

  • Regular flights connect Dehradun to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other major cities.

  • From the airport, hire a taxi to Mussoorie (approx. 60 km, 2 hours).

By Bus:

From Delhi:
Take an overnight Volvo or deluxe bus from ISBT Kashmere Gate to Dehradun. Buses take around 6.5 to 8 hours. From Dehradun, take a local taxi or bus to Mussoorie (approx. 1.5 to 2 hours).

Reaching Mussoorie from Dehradun:

  • Distance: Approximately 33 km

  • Travel Time: 1.5 to 2 hours by road

  • Transport: Taxis, shared jeeps, and buses are available frequently from Dehradun Railway Station or ISBT to Mussoorie (Library Bus Stand).

Reaching Cloud’s End (Trek Start Point):

  • Distance from Mussoorie (Library Chowk): Around 6 to 8 km

  • Travel Time: 20 to 30 minutes

  • Transport:

    • Hire a private taxi from Mussoorie to Cloud’s End

Cancellation policy


Life is unpredictable and we understand sometimes you have to cancel or change your trip dates and it is our endeavour to make it as easy possible for you. However, please understand we plan everything including guide fees, permits, accommodation and ration in advance. Therefore any cancellation means inconvenience and certain losses to the people involved in various stages of programme. Keeping that in mind, our cancellation charges are as below-

Cancellation prior to 30 days from start of the event: Get monetary refund with 15% of cancellation charges on trek fee.

Cancellation between 30 days and 15 days to the start of event: 50% on trek fee is non refundable and the remaining 50 % will be given as cash voucher which is valid for 1 year.

Cancellation less than 15 days to the start of event: No refund.

Note: The Himalayan Daredevils reserves the right to cancel a programme before departure in the event of logistical problems arriving due to natural calamities, strikes, wars on any other circumstances that makes the event inadvisable.
