How to reach

By Air

There are three means of transport, namely air, rail, and road available, which makes it easy to reach Dehradun. Jolly Grant Airport is situated approximately 25 km from the city center and is the nearest airport if you travel with modern facilities. India is connected telephonically with regular passenger traffic from New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Tourists can take a taxi or a shuttle upon landing to go to Dehradun.

By Train

If you plan to travel by train, you should note that Dehradun Railway Station is an important station in Northern India with good connectivity with many cities. At least one or two express and passenger trains are available almost every day from Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. You can even enjoy the scenic journey towards Dehradun, especially the views with the green mountains in the backdrop.

By Road

By road, it is a pleasant oasis and is well-connected to a network of national and state highways radiating from it. Regular bus services are available from Delhi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and other major urban centers. The time taken to reach Delhi to these locations is about 6 to 7 hours while it’s much less from Haridwar i.e. around 1.5 to 2 hours. For more comfortable and flexible traveling, especially if in a group, you may also opt for taxis.
